Strength

Today I want to talk about strength. This is a subject that fascinates me. Every person has the power to improve, inspire, love, and stand up for himself and for others. Every single person on this huge globe is strong. Let's start with: what is strength?

My embodiment of strenght
To me, strength is believing in yourself and in your own power(s). A tiger is the embodiment of strength to me. A calm, beautiful creature, which will leave you alone if you leave her alone. Mess with her, and she'll show you some teeth without much effort. To others, it might be staying strong during a tough period, or feeling physically strong. You can also feel strong because you achieved something. It can be something very small, or very big.

Another form of strength, is a very important one that most people don't realise is strength. It's the power of letting go. Because 'letting go', doesn't mean 'giving up'. Sometimes you need to let go of a situation, or a person, because it's not good for you. Maybe this person isn't so good to you as you thought he was. Maybe you are in a bad relationship that simply can't be fixed. Or you are desperately trying to do your best for school, but it's just to hard and you can't work it out... Instead of fighting for something that won't work, suffer, or crawling away pretending it's not there, you can let go. You can make peace with the situation, let go. This people, is real strength to me.

For now, I want you at least to remember this: you are strong. No matter what. No matter if you are a man or a woman, no matter what your age is. You. Are. Strong. I don't know what you've been through, or what you might go through right now. But believe me when I say you have the strength, the courage and the power to overcome this. You will make it. You can do this, and you will do this. Find your inner strength and you will be okay.

I want to give you something to think about. What means the word 'strength' to you? When do you feel strong, and why? If you find it hard to feel strong, think about one moment when you felt really strong. Remember the way you felt. Hold on to this feeling and use it when you need. Feel free to share in the comments.

"Sometimes the best way of
moving forward and being strong,
is letting go."

Lots of love
